Motivational Appraisal of Personal Potential

Have You Lost Track of Who You Really Are?
Are you going through your day doing things that don’t excite you?
Is your day boring?
Are you starting to dread the "same old, same old"?
Are you so disconnected from yourself that you can't be sure what you want to do – where your passion is?

Living your life focused only on doing things that you have to do or that you should do can be a very costly energy expenditure. Sure, you can probably do them but the cost to you in spent life energy is high.

When you are doing things for which you are not naturally motivated, you are producing drag, friction and resistance – things that make you tired and put you in a bad mood.

Don't continue to trudge along making yourself perform tasks that are unappealing. Instead, find out what naturally motivates you. When you do things for which you are naturally motivated – you like doing them and they build up your energy and positive moods.

When you are doing things you like to do, you will-

  • Perform better
  • Get results quicker
  • Lessen the wear and tear on yourself
  • Increase your creativity
  • Build capital for more effective actions
  • Be just plain happier.

Motivational Appraisal of Personal Potential - (MAPP)

MAPP is a motivation assessment that reveals your natural internal motivational drives. It gives you a snapshot picture of who you really are – underneath all the "should ofs" and "have tos".

MAPP stands for Motivational Appraisal of Personal Potential. Based on forty years of development and proven success, MAPP provides a unique online assessment that guides, motivates and empowers you to achieve your greatest potential.

MAPP focuses on motivation. Motivation is what drives you from the inside. It cannot be learned or taught, this is just who you are.

The MAPP assessment identifies your motivations and is an aid in learning how to use them to be personally successful in your career and life plan.

Online Format

MAPP is a fully integrated, computer-aided motivational assessment system capable of identifying your intrinsic motivations / drives.

MAPP:

  • Measures your potential and motivation.
  • Describes your temperament, aptitude, and vocational interests.
  • Formats information in three ways:
    • Narrative
    • Numeric
    • Graphical

The Assessment that brings you "Home To Yourself"

arrowYour Personal Energy Traits

MAPP assess five levels of motivation:

1. Compelling traits. These are your strongest traits will help you to be successful in your life

2. Highly motivated traits. These are very important for you to express in your life

3. Moderately motivated traits for you

4. Traits that have little or no importance to you

5. Traits that are aversions for you

Think of these as "energy" traits as on a continuum, from positive to negative. Traits with 1’s and 2’s are on the positive end of the energy spectrum indicating that you are highly motivated to use these traits, and 4’s and 5’s on the negative end.

Keep in mind that because a trait is at level 4 or 5 does not mean you cannot perform tasks related to that particular trait. If you have a lower motivation level this does not mean you cannot do that task, it simply means you would rather not perform those tasks regularly.

arrowCareer and Work Performance – Worker Traits

The MAPP Appraisal also analyzes your "Worker traits" as they relate to your potential work performance. The appraisal is divided into nine categories, as follows:

Interest in Work Contents - This section identifies those tasks you are motivated to perform in your work environment.

Temperament for the work - This group identifies how you prefer to perform tasks. They are personal traits, which you have a tendency to display at work.

Aptitude for the work - This section includes mental, perceptual, and sensory/physical factors that show how your mind and senses work together.

People - This section discusses your roles, relationships, and priorities. These factors indicate how you are likely to respond in your working relationships with others.

Things - How you relate to factors such as engineering, operations, and sensory/physical illustrate technical and craft potential.

Data - This section involves your mental orientation and order of thinking. These factors cover the full range of thinking from theory to fact, thinking to doing. If ratings are high, mental activity is an important part of your vocational activities.

Reasoning - These factors are designed to show how you reason and where your thinking is best applied.

Mathematical - This group of factors indicates your interest level in applying the use of mathematics on the job.

Language - This section reports your motivation and potential in the use of language and communication.

arrowYour Personal Appraisal Report

After you complete the online MAPP Assessment you will be emailed a 25-30 page Personal Appraisal Report. Your responses have been processed and interpreted to reveal your true motivations, your top vocational areas, your unique learning styles, and your work preferences.

    • Major Vocational Areas – provides nineteen major vocational areas for consideration. These areas are ranked from lowest to highest. The ranking is obtained by comparing your individual score to the general population. Each major vocational area further contains specific occupational titles which are also ranked to identify occupational potential. Strong vocational and occupational ratings in the same group indicate the greatest potential for success. The Major Vocational Areas include:
      • Fine Arts
      • Business Relations

  • Personal Analysis – this report is directly based on your responses to the forced choice preferences in the survey. The source information comes from your indicated preferences in the assessment – and nowhere else. The appraisal only reports what you were saying about "self" through your responses to the most/least choices. The complex interaction of all traits (analyzed by the computer) produces a truly unique appraisal.
    • Traits of the Person – twenty-three core traits, that identify a unique quantification and qualification for each individual. This list will give your some idea of what happens when your individual traits simultaneously attempt to influence your thought and actions. This may result in one trait trying to prevent expression and satisfaction of another. The twenty-three core traits are:
