Spring 2005 was so spectacular, I just had to
make a special photo album page dedicated to all the beautiful flowers.
Too bad you can't smell them.

Dogwoods are an early flowering tree that start with these greenish
tinted flowers that turn to a blazing white. We have dozens of Dogwoods
on our property, but most are in the woods and get just a few flowers.

This is a long view of field of myrtle that grows on hillside which
falls away to the left to a small stream below. Up close you can
see the little periwinkle flowers.
A good year for azaleas.
I'd plant flowers everywhere if I had the time.

Here is wisteria blooming for the first time as seen from my office
window.

This clematis is a first year bloomer that will grow up to be
part of the arbor ceiling over the patio.

I love the color of iris and have patches that
bloom in succession.
Don't know why that is so, but it extends the time I have to enjoy
them.
Lilies of the Valley
These are wild violets that come up in sunny spots in the woods.

Lots of flowers means lots of bees. Some days the background buzz
is quite obvious.

French "tiger stripped" tulips.

The tulips don't last long but are quickly followed in the natural
cycle by later bloomers.
Pansies.

Peonies.

Gardens
everywhere. I love the flowers. Gardening can get a bit tedious,
but it gives me some light exercise and gets me out in the sunshine
everyday.
