You will reconnect to your natural rhythms so that you are in alignment with your own power and creative force.

Answering the Call

There will be times in your life when you will be called to take a Sacred Journey. You may answer "Yes" right away. Or you may resist and pretend that you did not hear the call.

You may think you don't know where to start the journey.

When a woman hears and acknowledges the call to embark on her Sacred Journey she knows in her heart that she must prepare to leave her people and her life behind, at least symbolically.

In order for you to become the doctor, mother, hairdresser, stockbroker that you are, you may have had to bear the separation of your inner and outer selves. And a woman can not bear for long this split between her inner life - her deepest needs - and her worldly requirements.

Somewhere you know you have paid too high a price.

Sooner or later, a woman finds that her spirit calls to her to come back to herself and take her journey home again to herself.

For a woman, her biggest fear perhaps is leaving her people behind while she travels by herself along unknown paths to the Sacred Mountains. She worries about the baby. She worries about the children in school. She worries about the house and the laundry. She worries about her mate. She worries about her responsibilities at work. She worries about her deadlines. She worries about her team. She worries about her money. She worries about making partner. Surely, those days that she is alone in the wilderness of her journey will cost her this life she has spent so long building.

When a woman is separated from any aspect of herself she is wounded. The wound may be fresh and bright and bleeding. Or the wound may be old and dry and brittle. Traveling while wounded can get weary and fearful.

But there is a remedy at hand.

There is the power and the grace of journeying to the depths of herself that will hold, support and bring her whole again. It is this elegant presence of the wholeness of herself that calls her name again and again. This call may come as a subtle whisper, a loud and unmistakable blast, or a persistent and annoying nagging. However it comes, eventually she will - at long last - give her consent for the journey to be taken.

Your consent to begin your Sacred Journey requires courage and steadfastness - for you are traveling in the dark without road markers or a map. However, no woman is ever called to journey without aid and assistance. Each woman will be guided by her ancestors and by a midwife who has taken the journey before and who now stands and holds the space for her.

The Sacred Journeys that are guided here are fashioned around the timeless initiations that women and women healers have taken since ancient times. Each journey is crafted to honor the traditional rites and bring them into the modern woman’s life. Whether you are putting yourself onto "Decision Road" to take your Vision Quest in the Sacred Mountains or offering up your service to undergo your Healer’s Initiations, you will be held and honored by the heart and hands of a knowing and skilled midwife who can assist you in giving birth to yourself again.

If you hear the call to leave your people and wish to embark on your Sacred Journey back to yourself know that without your vision your people can not live whole and free. It is your task to bring your vision back to your people so that they may live and prosper. To receive this vision you must answer the call you hear. During your Sacred Journey, you will be gifted with your power and your grace which will enable you to carry your vision into the world.

One woman, journeying to the sacred mountains, says that for 10 years she has avoided giving her consent to her call to her Vision Quest. Even when prompted she skirted around the consent, walking in a maze of knowing she is being called and wishing that she did not hear the call. With tears in her eyes, she at last says, "Yes". And she gives her consent for the process to take her into the wilderness.

A Vision Quest for Women

This is a feminine contemporized version of the traditional Vision Quest. It is an exploration that occurs over a 6 month period. I act as your initiatory midwife guiding you through this Rite of Passage. Our meetings throughout the process take place by phone and except for the Threshold Experience you take your Vision Quest from your own homebase.

This program will assist you in preparing, planning, and carrying out a Vision Quest - the ancient ritual to bring forth your vision into the world. You will be guided in identifying your quest, picking your place of questing, the preparatory work before the quest and integrating the experience after the quest.

A Vision Quest for Women Group

Embarking on a Vision Quest with the support and interaction of other women brings a special energy and dynamic to the adventure. The Four Shields Rites of Passage

As you cycle through life stages, you pass through successive initiatory experiences. We all live within the seasonal natural cycle, ebbing and flowing through constant growth, decay, regeneration, and their interdependence.

The Four Shields process is metaphorically derived from the patterns and dynamics of the natural world and is based on recognition of our oneness with our environment. The Four Shields process is a spiritual, therapeutic, and psychological process that mirrors in the person seasonal dynamics.
